The 2024 LET season roars to life this week at Vipingo Ridge in Kenya for the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, marking the tournament’s fourth edition and the first event on the tour’s packed schedule. 108 players from 36 different countries will tee off in the 72-hole stroke play competition, showcasing the growing global reach and diversity of the Ladies European Tour.

This year holds special significance, with 64 rookies joining the LET ranks after graduating from Lalla Aicha Q-School in December, 20 of them taking their first swings in Kenya. The tour itself boasts a record-breaking 402 members representing 43 countries, with several players set to make history this week.

Poland welcomes its first full LET member, Dorota Zalewska, who remains grounded despite the achievement. “It means quite a lot for Poland, but for me I’m just Dory,” she says, looking forward to experiencing the wildlife alongside the competition.

History is also being made by Singapore’s Shannon Tan, who turned professional after securing a top 20 finish at Q-School. “I’m excited to see what the course is like, and I’ve heard about the animals,” she shares, eager to begin her professional journey in this unique setting.

Panama also sends its first representative, Laura Sluman, who joins the LET after playing on the Epson Tour. “It’s a great honor,” she proclaims, “I’m excited for the schedule, to see the world, it’s awesome.”

The tournament commences on Thursday, February 8th, with the first round starting at 7:45 am local time. With such a diverse and talented field, the stage is set for an exciting opening act to the 2024 LET season.

Additional Information:

  • The total prize fund for the Magical Kenya Ladies Open is €300,000.
