Golf Destination Guides in English, Deutsch, Svenska, Suomi & Español
Each language edition is adapted for its market, with attention to local travel patterns, search intent and the questions golfers from that country are likely to ask. This is one of the practical details many visitors overlook when comparing golf travel sites — a guide translated word-for-word rarely answers the questions a local traveler actually has.

There are two ways to book accommodation for your golf trip, depending on what you’re looking for. Golfscape’s Stay & Play packages combine resort accommodation with exact, pre-booked tee times at the courses in that package. Expedia’s bundles are general flight + hotel packages, without golf included — green fees are still booked separately with the course.

A golf trip is rarely just golf, especially when traveling with a partner or family. Curated excursions and activities for each destination are covered inside the individual destination guides linked above, and this section will expand with a dedicated activity selection per destination as each guide is developed.
Golf Travel Planning
Best Season to Travel
The best golf season varies considerably by destination. Caribbean destinations are often strongest in the northern winter, while Mauritius is generally most comfortable during its cooler, drier May–November period. Check the individual destination guide before booking.
Airport Transfers
Most resorts offer private or shared transfers from the nearest international airport. This is one of the practical details many visitors overlook when comparing resort packages — confirm whether transfers are included before booking.
Rental Cars
A rental car gives flexibility to play multiple courses across a region rather than staying within one resort. It is not required if you plan to stay at a single golf resort for your trip.
Traveling With Your Clubs
Airlines vary in their policy for golf bags — check baggage allowances and any oversized item fees before departure. Club rental is available at most resort courses if you prefer to travel light.
Caddies
A caddie may be required at some resort and championship courses, particularly in the Caribbean and parts of Europe. Confirm the policy for your specific course when booking your tee time.
Green Fees
Green fees vary by course, season, and time of day, and are paid directly to the course rather than bundled into hotel packages, unless you’ve booked a Stay & Play package that includes rounds. Twilight and shoulder-season rates are often available.
Resort Golf vs. Independent Golf
Resort-based golf trips suit travelers who want convenience and a single home base. Independent itineraries, moving between regions, suit golfers who want to play a wider variety of courses on one trip.
Golf Gear & Training
Beyond destinations, AmerExperience also covers golf clubs, training aids, and free lessons for improving your game before your next trip.
Golf Travel FAQ
Do I need to book tee times before I arrive?
Booking in advance is recommended, especially in peak season, since popular courses can fill up weeks ahead. This is why I generally recommend booking tee times as soon as your travel dates are confirmed.
Are green fees included in flight and hotel bundles?
No, not in a standard flight + hotel bundle. Green fees and tee times are booked separately, directly with the golf course, unless you choose a Stay & Play package that bundles specific rounds into the accommodation.
Do I need to bring my own golf clubs?
It depends on the airline’s baggage policy and your own preference. Most resort courses offer quality club rentals, so traveling without clubs is a realistic option.
Is a caddie required?
A caddie may be required at some resort and championship courses. Policies vary by course, so it is worth checking at the time of booking.
What is the best time of year for a golf trip?
It depends on the destination. Caribbean destinations tend to peak during the northern winter, while Mauritius is generally best from May to November. Check the specific destination guide for details.

Lassi Pensikkala
I’m a Finnish economist, international travel professional and avid golfer with decades of experience in international tourism and destination management. Having lived and worked across Europe and South America, I look at golf travel from both sides of the journey: as a golfer choosing where I genuinely want to play, and as a travel professional who understands what makes a destination work beyond the course.
Through AmerExperience™, I combine that experience with independent research to help golfers discover great courses, destinations and travel experiences around the world.
