Ontario International Airport (ONT), located in Southern California’s Inland Empire about 40 miles east of Los Angeles, is one of the few U.S. airports where non-ticketed visitors can meet loved ones right at the gate. Its ONT+ Visitor Pass Program, launched in 2022, gives friends and family free access to the terminals beyond security — no boarding pass required — to grab a bite, browse the shops, or walk a traveler to their gate.
The program keeps growing: it’s approaching 100,000 registered users and remains one of the most generous visitor-access programs of its kind currently running in the U.S. In my experience tracking how U.S. airports handle visitor access, few programs go this far.

Flying through Ontario is also a handy way into Southern California — Los Angeles is under an hour away, and Temecula wine country is even closer.
