Ecuador Matemáticas Medallas 

Ecuador logró dos medallas de bronce en la 62 edición de la Olimpiada Internacional de Matemáticas realizada del 18 al 24 de julio del 2021, y que reunió a los miembros más jóvenes de la elite científica mundial.

Aunque en otras ocasiones el país ha logrado medallas, esta es la primera vez en la historia que Ecuador logra dos preseas de bronce en un solo equipo, dijo a Efe Valerie Bustos, directora de Marketing de Olimpiada Matemática Ecuatoriana.

En la edición de este año, organizada por Rusia de manera híbrida (on line y presencial), Ecuador estuvo representado por Jiamao Yu, Miguel Guzmán, Zhiron Wu, Jahir Cajas, Emilio Zamora y Jhosue Infante, quienes estuvieron acompañados por Fernando Gómez (jefe de la delegación) y Sebastián Regalado (tutor de la delegación).

Jiamao Yu y Miguel Guzmán lograron las preseas de bronce para el Ecuador
En la olimpiada participaron 619 estudiantes de secundaria de 107 países, entre ellos Alemania, Rusia, China, Japón, Estados Unidos, México y Perú.

De los 619 estudiantes 52 obtuvieron oro, 103 plata y 148 bronce. El primer lugar como delegación se lo llevó China por tercera vez consecutiva.
