AmerExperience Research™: The World’s Best Golf Destinations
The AmerExperience Research™ Global Golf Destination Index compares leading golf destinations using the complete travel experience rather than course prestige alone. The research considers golf quality, course choice, climate, accommodation, experiences beyond golf, gastronomy, accessibility and value.
This gives golfers another way to evaluate a destination. A legendary course can justify a journey, but a successful golf holiday also depends on where you stay, how easily you can move between courses, what the climate is likely to be and whether the destination works for the people traveling with you.

AmerExperience Golf™ is built as a multilingual golf-travel ecosystem rather than a collection of literal translations. Language editions can be adapted around the travel patterns, search intent and practical questions of golfers from different markets.
The Golf Travel Guide archive provides the continuously updated stream of golf-travel content, while this Hub remains the principal destination-discovery and planning page.

Golf Resorts & Where to Stay
Your accommodation should follow your golf itinerary, not the other way around. A hotel that looks ideal on a map can create unnecessary driving every morning if the courses you want to play are concentrated in another part of the destination.
Golfscape Stay & Play packages can combine resort accommodation with golf included in the package. Expedia provides general accommodation and flight + hotel options; golf is booked separately unless the specific product explicitly states otherwise.
Punta Cana Golf Packages
Explore golf-focused packages in Punta Cana and compare the golf included in each individual offer.
View Golf Packages →Compare Hotels & Travel
Use Expedia when you want to choose accommodation independently from your golf bookings.
Explore Golf Travel on Expedia →Beyond the Golf Course
A strong golf destination should still work after the 18th hole. This becomes particularly important when traveling with a partner, family or friends who do not want to play every round.
AmerExperience destination guides therefore look beyond golf to restaurants, wine, beaches, culture, cities and other experiences. Activities can be integrated into individual destination guides through Viator where relevant rather than forcing every traveler into the same itinerary.
Golf + Experiences
Balance morning rounds with food, culture, wine, beaches or sightseeing instead of treating every day as another 18-hole commitment.
Explore Experiences on Viator →Build the Journey Around You
Choose the courses, hotel base and experiences separately when that creates a better trip than a fixed package.
Explore Golf Travel Guides →Golf Travel Planning
Choose the Right Base
Start with the courses you genuinely want to play. Then choose accommodation that minimizes unnecessary transfers and keeps the rest of the destination accessible.
Best Season to Travel
The ideal golf season varies considerably by destination. Climate, daylight, rainfall, heat and seasonal demand can all influence the quality and cost of the trip.
Book Important Tee Times Early
For highly demanded courses, the tee time may be the real constraint on your itinerary. Secure priority rounds before treating the rest of the journey as final.
Rental Car or Transfers?
A rental car can be ideal when several courses are spread across a region. Resort transfers can make more sense when most of the golf is concentrated around one base.
Traveling With Your Clubs
Check airline golf-bag policies before departure. Club rental can be a practical alternative when golf is only one part of a longer international journey.
Green Fees
Green fees vary by course, season, tee time and demand. Compare current conditions rather than relying on old published prices.
Match Courses to the Players
A famous championship course is not automatically the most enjoyable round for every handicap. Build variety into the itinerary and choose courses that fit the people actually traveling.
Leave Space Beyond Golf
Three memorable rounds and time to experience the destination can create a better journey than filling every available day with golf.
Travel. Play. Improve.
AmerExperience Golf™ is broader than golf travel alone. The same golfer planning a destination may also want to understand the mental side of the game, improve course management, find useful training resources or explore equipment before the next trip.

Golf Travel FAQ
How do I choose the right golf destination?
Start with the type of golf you enjoy, the season you can travel, your budget, flight access and whether the trip needs to work for non-golfing companions. Then compare individual golf regions rather than choosing only by the reputation of one famous course.
Do I need to book tee times before I arrive?
Booking in advance is recommended for important rounds and peak travel periods. Popular courses can have limited visitor availability, so priority tee times are often worth securing before the rest of the itinerary is finalized.
Are green fees included in flight and hotel bundles?
Not normally. A standard flight + hotel booking does not automatically include golf. Golf-specific Stay & Play products may include selected rounds, but the exact inclusions should always be checked before booking.
Do I need to bring my own golf clubs?
No. Many resort and visitor-friendly courses offer club rental. Whether bringing your own clubs makes sense depends on airline baggage rules, the importance of golf within the trip and your personal preference.
Is a caddie required?
Requirements vary by destination and course. Some championship and resort courses require or strongly encourage caddies, while many others do not. Check the individual course policy when arranging the tee time.
What is the best time of year for a golf trip?
There is no single global golf season. Southern European destinations can work especially well in spring and autumn, Caribbean destinations are popular during the northern winter, and traditional northern European golf destinations are generally strongest from spring into early autumn.
The AmerExperience Perspective
The best golf trip is rarely the one with the longest list of famous courses. It is the journey where the destination, golf, accommodation, travel distances and experiences beyond the course work together.
My preference is to choose fewer rounds carefully, stay in the right base and leave enough time to experience the destination itself. This becomes even more important when traveling with a partner or family. Golf may be the reason for the journey, but it does not have to occupy every hour of it.
Build Your Next Golf Journey
Start with destination intelligence. Compare the places that suit your trip, read the detailed guide, choose your golf base and then move to tee times, accommodation and experiences.
