El consultor de negocios y creador de Amer Experience, Lassi Pensikkala, destaca en entrevista con Radio Turismo Ecuador que nuestro país es el destino turístico más lindo del mundo por la calidez de su gente, la cultura, el clima y la naturaleza, atractivos que le hicieron mudarse de su natal Finlandia hace 12 años. “Vivo en Guayaquil. Mi familia es ecuatoriana y me gusta mucho vivir aquí, honestamente es un destino muy lindo. La vida en América Latina es un poco diferente que en Europa”, señala.

Cuenta con 40 años de experiencia en el sector turístico internacional y, desde su óptica, explica que la ventaja competitiva de Ecuador es su flora y fauna así como sus cuatro mundos o regiones: La Insular de Galápagos, los Andes, la Costa y la Amazonia, que calificó de ´muy impresionantes´. Al ser Ecuador un país pequeño resulta manejable para los turistas, porque las distancias no son muy grandes. “Tú puedes ver nieve, luego ir a nadar en el mar Pacífico o ir a la selva. Estas son las ventajas más grandes para los turistas internacionales”, que hay que destacar para atraer turistas.
Pensikkala considera que en Ecuador no falta mucho por hacer porque tiene los recursos naturales, que son la materia prima. No obstante, explica que se debe mejorar la infraestructura de servicios básicos, que es un tema de importancia para los europeos, en especial los finlandeses. Por ejemplo, asegurar la dotación de agua limpia para la preparación de los alimentos, de tal manera que “el sabor sea mejor y más sano, pues es un asunto de seguridad también”.
