Las autoridades sanitarias han advertido que el verano va a ralentizar, aunque no a parar , la pandemia de coronavirus en los países que se adentran en las estaciones más calurosas.

De ahí que muchos se pregunten si la enfermedad puede transmitirse o contagiarse a través d el agua , la arena o el pasto que suele rodear a las piscinas.

Dado que no existen estudios específicos de la supervivencia del covid-19 en entornos acuáticos , la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) ha basado sus recomendaciones sobre el tema en las evidencias científicas recogidas para otros coronavirus.

“La morfología y la estructura química de este virus es similar a las de otros coronavirus para los cuales si existen datos de supervivencia”, dice su informe.
